We Eliminated Our Church's Bulletin
And replaced it with this...
Hey, it’s Brady,
We don’t print weekly bulletins at my church. Instead, we publish catalogs.
The best part?
They’re cheaper than weekly bulletins. Here’s how…
Our catalog is called Inside Central.
It’s beautifully designed
It’s on-brand with our church’s fonts, colors, and logos
It’s suitable for both guests and regular attendees
In my opinion, the biggest differentiator between a printed catalog and a weekly bulletin is photography. In the catalog, you’ll find photo containers with an emphasis on the people of our church on every single page.
Pro Tip:
Simply rounding a corner on a photo container is one of my favorite ways to elevate any design (see image below).
What about the cost?
We paid $1.50 per catalog, including tax and shipping. How does this cost compare to the cost of weekly bulletins?
I asked 100+ churches that print weekly bulletins how much they cost. The average came out to ~$0.25 per bulletin.
This means that over the course of three months (13 weeks), the cost per person for weekly bulletins would be $3.25 ($0.25 x 13), compared to just $1.50 for the quarterly catalog ($1.50 x 1).
Naturally, the objective for bulletins and our catalog is next steps.
We want our churches to get involved with what’s happening and be spiritually formed to become more like Jesus.
In our experience, the catalogs are more effective.
Not only this, they make great first impressions with guests and help them connect early with our church.
