Hey, it’s Brady,

Chasing the next big thing is an easy trap for leaders to fall into (me included).

May I propose a boring alternative? Say it until they say it.

Allow me to explain...

North Broadway Church has three values:

  1. Stay Faithful

  2. Drop The Mask

  3. Fight On

What is the point of these values?

They give people language for how we act here.

For example, "Drop The Mask" - here's what that looks like:

  • Naming the temptation out loud

  • Refusing the fake-it-till-you-make-it script

  • Letting somebody actually see you vulnerable

The language you use becomes the culture you build.

So how do you get these values to stick? Say it until they say it.

Like that thing your mom or dad always used to repeat to you over and over.

Then one day, when you needed it, you heard their voice in the back of your head. And it changed what you did.

That's the goal.

Say it from stage.
Say it in meetings.
Say it in your writing.
Say it when you're tired of saying it.

Until one day...they start saying it without you.
