The Best Time To Do Church Announcements

99% of churches guess wrong.

Hey, it’s Brady,

When is the best time to do announcements in your church service?

I can guarantee you that 99% of churches will guess wrong.

Why?

Because whether you do it before service, mid-service, or after service - you can make a quality argument that it's the wrong time.

Do it before service? You create a culture where people know they can show up late.

Do it between worship and the sermon? You disrupt the service flow.

Do it at the end? C'mon. Everyone wants to get to lunch. They ain't listening now.

So what's the solution? Rotate it.

In my church, we call this The Creative Curveball - where you intentionally do something different to re-engage waning attention.

Because the bottom line is that there is no perfect time. They're all imperfect. So we'll do it at the beginning for a season. Then mid-service. Then at the end.

We continually mix it up. What this does is inject a bit of novelty into everyone's least favourite - yet necessary - part of service.

Throw a curveball. Change it up.
