Quick Fixes To Improve Church Announcements
From blah to brilliant!
Hey, it’s Brady,
These are easy church announcements tweaks.
No need to overhaul everything you're already doing.
#1. The Curveball
Normally do 5 announcements? Just do 1 extended one
Typically slot announcements between worship and the sermon? Do it to kickoff service
Mix up your host to get someone else on stage
The idea here is simple:
Intentionally break the routine. It allows your church to hear and see things with a fresh perspective.
#2. The Callback
The objective here is to share ONE announcement TWO TIMES in a service.
First, deliver the announcement as you normally would. Then, have your pastor mention that same event in their sermon during a relevant moment.

#3. The Interview
Need more volunteers? Instead of just pleading from stage, interview an existing volunteer. This Q&A conversation will have a different pace and cadence than a normal announcement. And can work for any type of event or ministry.
#4. The Interaction
I specifically recommend using this technique when you have one announcement that needs to be shared multiple weeks in a row. For example, VBS.
Assemble a few VBS-themed prizes
Ask a trivia question related to VBS (Ex: How many kids attended last year?)
Have your church text their answers or drop guesses in a bin
Reveal the winner the following week and deliver their prize
Repeat for as many weeks as needed alongside your announcement
#5. The Audible
This tactic is too powerful and advanced to fit in a single paragraph.
Christianity's Decline Over At Last? Here's Proof
For the past 15 years we've all heard the same thing:
“People just don't believe in God like they used to.”
However, encouraging new data suggests this is finally changing.
And not just in America.
Thanks as always for your time, attention, and trust. - Brady Shearer
