Hey, it’s Brady,
There are 3 red flags in church tech culture you should watch out for.
If you’re a leader, it might feel uncomfortable to reflect on these, but the downstream effects of becoming a better leader are worth it!
Red Flag #1: The leader that has to do everything themselves.
Now, this could be because they're not great at delegating, or more likely, it's that they root a big part of their identity in this ministry and so it needs to be done their way by them because it is them.
Red Flag #2: The "we've always done it this way" culture.
If anytime you ask "why?" it gets met with resistance, that's concerning. Because in a healthy culture, when someone asks the leader "why" that's a great opportunity to share vision and values and explain how decisions are being made.
Red Flag #3: A negative or cynical spirit.
There are three words that always put me on high alert: "Must be nice."
When someone says that, it demonstrates to me that they are either having a bad day or that they've already decided that the world is out to get them and they've got it harder than everyone else.
Once you've adopted that worldview for yourself and your church, the script is already written.
